If your long-term study goal is entry to a university in the UK, South Africa, Australia or New Zealand a high score in the IELTS exam is required. We offer preparatory courses (varying in length from 1 to 8 weeks) which provide practice in the important skills university-bound students require - e.g. essay writing and lecture note-taking.
Our well-established and expert examination team provide you with a comprehensive preparation for the IELTS examinations. The lessons are structured to focus on all aspects of the exam using the latest Cambridge Exam course book. You can expect to be given comprehensive practice of past papers and a thorough education in exam techniques.
It should be noted that there is an expectation that you will have a certain degree of homework in order to prepare fully for the exams.
Exams can be booked and paid for through the school and then taken at local exam centres.
The morning lessons are designed around a course book and provides the opportunity for students to improve the skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking as well as enhancing and increasing their active / working vocabulary and grammar knowledge. By the end of their stay the students can expect to have improved not only their communicative competence, through their study of ‘survival’ English and ‘everyday’ English but will have also achieved a new level of learner autonomy and confidence.
In the afternoon the students study exam techniques and exam preparation on a course specifically designed to suit their individual needs. Students wishing to attend university or colleges of higher education in Britain would be expected to have an IELTS qualification before being accepted on a course. For this reason this course will prove invaluable to their preparation for taking the exam.
