StopPress - The LAL Torbay students' magazine

May 2009

We’ve gone for an ‘Arts and Religion’ feel to the magazine this month with articles on Rudyard Kipling, who had links with Torbay, while Kevin continues his series of articles on the history of film, looking at the 1930s. We also look into the cloisters of Buckfast Abbey to find out about the history and life at this well-known religious establishment.

With another 100% pass rate on our February teacher training course we welcome the next group of trainees about to start the May course, and wish them luck.

On Sunday 10th of May LAL staff members, Laurie Chapman and Caroline Hamnett took part in the ‘Race for Life’ event in Goodrington. All the money raised by this 3km race will go to various cancer charities, so we’d all like to wish them our congratulations!
