South Florida offers many large tourist attractions, such as Walt Disney and Universal Orlando theme parks and Tampa’s Busch Gardens, all featuring thrilling coaster rides and exciting entertainment. There are also Disney water parks, or Rapids Water Park in Riviera Beach. Miami Seaquarium features their famous Dolphin Encounter. Weekend getaways also include Kennedy Space Center, or a scenic drive to Key West, the southernmost point in the USA.
LAL Fort Lauderdale will help you discover the best of the region through its programmes of excursions and activities.
We offer half-day tours, such as a catamaran snorkelling trip and the popular Everglades airboat ride. We arrange beach trips that include banana boat rides, volleyball and boogie boarding, with optional jet ski rentals or parasailing adventures up to 800 feet high. Evening trips include a Florida Marlins baseball game at the stadium, or a limo ride to Miami’s South Beach. Every week we visit a shopping mall, often with time to see a first-run film during the trip.
Special events are not to be missed, such as off-broadway performances, concerts, IMAX 3-D theatre presentations and sports.
There's culture, too, in Fort Lauderdale. Our art galleries exhibit international collections as well as works by major American artists, and we have world-class museums and entertainments centres. You can also time your visit to coincide with our famous International Film Festival.
In addition to our regularly scheduled leisure options, we also offer golf, scuba - Open Water PADI Certification, scuba - 2 dives (for students already PADI certified), weekend getaways to Orlando/Key West/Tampa and a Caribbean cruise to complete a perfect stay in Florida.

Monday | Introduction Orientation for new students and welcome to Fort Lauderdale.
Aruba Beach Blast Located on the beach, this meeting point has bars, cafes, lifeguard stations and a fishing pier. |
Tuesday | Baseball Travel to the stadium for a professional baseball game, as the Florida Marlins host other national teams. Try a hot dog and a cold beer or 'soda', as players try to hit a home run!
Happy Hour at the Stained Glass Pub Meet friends for Happy Hour at a pub within walking distance of the school. |
Wednesday | Everglades Take an exciting airboat ride across the “River of Grass”, looking for alligators and other wildlife. Visitors encounter both native and exotic animals, such as a Florida panther, black leopards, reptiles, birds and many more. There’s a chance to hold a small alligator, snake, bearded dragon or armadillo. |
Thursday | Shopping Shop for great bargains on almost anything at South Florida’s premier shopping attractions: Sawgrass Mills Mall, Aventura Mall or Galleria Mall. Discover a wide range of food, fashion and fun on these half-day and extended stay shopping trips. |
Friday | South Beach Art Deco Tour & Lincoln Road Nightlife Party Celebrate your weekend with a trip to “South Beach”, a combination of touring the unique “Art Deco District”, the Port of Miami, plus a photo stop at Versace’s Mansion before arriving at the famous Lincoln Road, home of many multi-cultural cafes, bars, shops and entertainment venues. Look for celebrities and act like a celebrity yourself!

Saturday | Key West Enjoy a scenic drive across the ocean to historic Key West. See Ernest Hemmingway’s home, the Shipwreck Museum in Mallory Square, or join the pub crawl down Duvall Street to see the sunset. It’s hard to resist the conch fritters or a “cheeseburger in paradise”.
Select either Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom or Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Cool off at Disney’s Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon water parks. Beloved Disney characters invite you to an amazing world of fantasy andm excitement! |
Sunday | Relax at the Beach Relax in the sun with a great book at any of the famous beaches in Fort Lauderdale. Stop by for a cool drink and listen to the band at Aruba Bar, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. |
