To supervise and co-ordinate students in an on-site residence of the designated summer school. This position involves working on weekends and other unsocial hours.
To be supported by all staff appointed to work at the designated summer school and operational departments at LAL London. Please see LAL Staffing Structure at the bottom of this document.
The role of House Parent is an important one, directly concerned with the welfare and enjoyment of overseas junior students. This requires the post-holder to supervise a student residence and offer constructive assistance as required to all aspects of the summer school operation including activities and excursions. This role will require the post-holder to ensure that all the students in their residence are happy, healthy and well behaved at all times.
The ideal House Parent will be highly attentive and have a keen sense of organisation in their approach to welfare issues. They will have the ability to provide care and supervision for their students whilst maintaining discipline at all times.
Gross Basic Salary* £245
Additional holiday entitlement 28 days per annum (pro rata) = 12.07% of hours worked based on Total Basic Salary, paid at the end of the contract where holiday has not been taken.

Returning Staff will receive:
An extra £15 per week Loyalty Bonus for their second year, with an additional £5 for each extra year they have worked at our summer schools, plus entitlement to our Early Bird Bonus and access to our Referral Bonus.
Working week = 5.5 days (up to 48 hours per week)
*Gross Basic Salary refers to Basic Salary plus Contract Completion Bonus (£15) upon successful completion of your agreed contract. Board (£30) and Accommodation (£33.11) allowances have already been deducted from this figure

NB: All bonuses (Contract Completion, Loyalty, Referral and Early Bird) and expense reimbursements are subject to successful completion of agreed contract, unless stated otherwise.
All amounts are gross (pre-tax and NIC), weekly and subject to statutory deductions at current rates.
