This is an intensive course for students who wish to have the opportunity to enhance the skills of listening and speaking. There are 30 group lessons each week and the additional 10 lessons per week in small classes on top of the Standard course provide the ideal conditions to develop a wide range of vocabulary and improve your key communication skills further.
Grammatical structures and vocabulary dealt with in morning lessons can be put into practice in these lessons, allowing a greater degree of reinforcement. There are also two private lessons every week designed in discussion with you to meet your particular needs. Students on this course will be given a free 'netbook' compact notebook computer, which they can keep at the end of their course.
This course is for students who are seeking to communicate effectively in everyday situations and gain a sound understanding of the principles of the English language. The morning lessons are designed around a course book and provides the opportunity for students to improve the skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking as well as enhancing and increasing their active / working vocabulary and grammar knowledge. By the end of their stay the students can expect to have improved not only their communicative competence, through their study of ‘survival’ English and ‘everyday’ English but will have also achieved a new level of learner autonomy and confidence.
Long-stay students have the added benefits of regular monthly tutorials for the purposes of ensuring that they are happy with their progress and determining ways in which they can continue to improve their competence and effective communication. An inbound transfer, our university placement service and progress tests are included too.
Students on Intensive courses are eligible for free upgrades to business, executive and examination courses (FCE, CAE, CPE & IELTS) subject to level and availability.
Students on Premium Academic Long-stay programmes of 12 weeks or more also receive a £150 prepaid cash card or Private Tuition equivalent
