Summer School English programme

Residential course: For students aged 11 – 17 years

(24 hour supervision)

LAL UK Summer Schools' aim is two fold: enable students to use language communicatively in realistic contexts and provide a wide variety of enjoyable activities, encouraging integration with students from different countries and cultures.

Students at Taunton School have 20 lessons of Summer School English with a comprehensive activity programme, with special excursions bookable on-site.

Located in this picturesque town in Somerset, students stay in a typical student house and enjoy the experience of living and studying in a traditional English boarding school setting.

Syllabus

LAL Summer Schools has adopted a task-based syllabus, which has been designed in order to present new language in addition to consolidating learners’ existing knowledge.  The topics chosen for each project have been meticulously selected to ensure that learners are actively stimulated throughout the course, whilst having ample opportunities to utilise the language in both controlled and freer practice sessions.  Each lesson will focus on a communicative approach developing learners’ productive and receptive skills. All course materials are provided, including an LAL coursebook.
