Kruger National Park, in the Mpumalanga Province of South Africa, is among the worlds greatest nature reserves. It is one of the few places on earth where wildlife can be seen in such great variety and at such close quarters. The park is densely populated by some 520 bird, 114 reptile and 146 mammal species, including the fabled Big Five – elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and buffalo. Although in nature there are no guarantees, in Kruger Park you stand the best chance of thrilling sightings of game, from some of Africa’s largest prides of lion, to birds found nowhere else within the country’s borders.
The present Kruger Park is immense, covering 19,685 km2, an area almost the size of Wales or two thirds of Belgium. There are more than 3000 km of roads on which to explore the Park. Obviously in a limited time one can do only so much within Kruger National Park. However our experience shows us which are the best roads to take at certain times of the year, ensuring you get the most of your visit to the Park. Our tour focuses mainly on the Southern areas of the park, as it has the largest concentration of game.

Discover the vast Kruger where the Big Five roam. Jump onboard an open safari vehicle to explore the park in search of elusive lions and leopards, as well as elephants, giraffes and wildebeest. Enjoy a campfire dinner before venturing out again on a thrilling late-night drive to try and spot the glow of predators' eyes.
Depart at first light for an entire day's game viewing. Call by the park's idyllic waterholes and venture into the landscape on foot with park rangers. It's a great way to work up an appetite for a traditional African meal. Next day, squeeze in another early morning game drive before visiting the Mafunyani Cultural Village for a lesson in traditional dance and song and to enjoy a local lunch. Tonight, luxuriate in a private safari lodge and tuck into a barbecue dinner in a boma, a traditional African house.
Complete the Kruger experience as our rangers show how to track wild animals, before heading back to the urban jungle of Johannesburg.
In winter (April to September) the days are mild (average about 23º C), with sometimes cool nights (down to 6º C). In the summer the days average 30º C, but sometimes exceed 40º C, with the welcome cooling effect of afternoon thunderstorms. Rain in the summer months (October ¬March i.e. “rainy season”) varies from about 800mm in the south, to 500mm in the northern areas.
Kruger National Park is a malaria area. Please ensure you are taking adequate precautions such as anti-malaria medication. The best precautions to avoid being bitten are by using Mosquito nets and repellent spray and wearing protective clothing particularly in the evenings.
Please note that the above info is given as an indication only: please ensure that you contact your local doctor or travel clinic for the latest information.

Day 1 & 2 – Luxury Camping
In the Kruger National Park Park, we have our own private semi luxury camps situated at Satara and Balule Rest Camps. Each camp has 10 permanent two man dome tents. The tents are pre-erected with beds and bedding provided. The tents have mosquito netting over the windows and door. Each camp also has a Kitchen Tent where dinner and breakfast can be enjoyed. There will be a power point in the kitchen tent which clients can use to recharge batteries etc.
Both campsites are close to ablution facilities with WCs and showers. In both camps are efficient lighting in the form of gas burners and lanterns. Centre to the tents and campsites are a fire pit with chairs to sit on, creating a sociable atmosphere for the clients to enjoy.
Day 3 – Lodge
The 3 star Private Game Lodge is situated in the Greater Kruger National Park in a conservancy 40 km from Orpen Gate. We stay in en-suite chalets, with mosquito nets and ceiling fans in every room. The Lodge has the following facilities: Boma, swimming pool, bar, lounge area and more.
As the game drives are all conducted in open vehicles, please ensure that you take along the following on all game drives: sunscreen, sunglasses and a warm jacket (even in summer as it can get cold due to the wind).
For comfort reasons luggage is limited on each trip to 1 backpack, 1 small daypack, and camera per person. Soft Bags only may be used (i.e.: no suitcases).
