The School Residences

Checking in and out

  • You may check in to the school residences from 14.00
  • You must check out of the school residences by 10.00, but if you want to check out at another time please come to the office Monday to Friday.
  • Please leave your keys with Security on departure.

Facilities

Your room will be cleaned Monday to Friday and your bed linen and towels will be changed on Thursday.

Our student kitchen is on the second floor of the San building and is known as the Kraal. Please clean up when you have finished cooking and please throw away your old food rather than leaving it in the fridge.

The school laundry can be reached from the car park. The laundry is open all day and is also available for any special washing requests.

Food

A continental breakfast is available every day from 07.15 to 08.30. This includes cereal, bread and jam, fruit juice, tea and coffee.

Keep it clean!

Please make sure that you clean up after yourself.

Heaters and electric blankets

Portable heaters and electric blankets are not permitted in the bedrooms for your safety.

Save water and power

Please turn off the taps properly. Please turn off the lights when you are not in your room.

Security and privacy

Please make sure that you lock the doors when arriving or leaving the residence. Please make sure that the windows are closed when you are not in your room.

If you would like somebody to visit you at the school, you will have to give their names to reception while it is open. The reception staff will then give their names to security for the evening. You will have to collect your visitor from the reception area for them to be allowed access into the school.

Please do not leave anything lying around. Your personal items (telephones, cameras, money etcetera) are your responsibility.

LAL Cape Town cannot take responsibility for loss of items, or injury sustained, on the premises.
