Exploring Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale, a beautiful American beach city and popular tourist destination located only one hour north of Miami, is renowned for its shopping, cultural events and sporting activities. Fort Lauderdale is also known as the Venice of America because of the miles of canals and waterfront properties on the eastern side of the city. The city is home to over 100 marinas and close to 50,000 yachts.

Fort Lauderdale is perfect for water sports such as boating, wind surfing and deep sea fishing. If you prefer to relax, spend a sunny afternoon at the beach, go shopping at one of the many malls or enjoy visiting a museum or art gallery near fashionable Las Olas Boulevard.

In the evening you can unwind at one of the city's many waterside restaurants and savour dishes from around the world or sample some of our local specialities including Stone Crab, Pompano fish, fresh orange juice and Key Lime Pie, before heading off to one of Fort Lauderdale's nightclubs, theatres or cinemas.
