Staying with a host family offers another dimension of language learning that takes place naturally when you are not even thinking-about it during mealtime conversation or a “movie” night or while playing a board game. Homestays with host families are an excellent opportunity to soak up the local culture as you discover the way of living, expressions and the daily life of native speakers. We are very well acquainted with all of our host families, and each family has satisfied our quality criteria.

Our partner school also offers the option of shared accommodation, in a loft-style apartment. The loft, which is 5 minutes away from the main train station Part-Dieu, with a surface area of 200m2 on the top floor of a small apartment block, has 4 double rooms and 3 bathrooms and an open, equipped kitchen, with a balcony overhanging it, which opens out into a large living room. In addition, the loft is equipped with a wireless internet network and a washing machine. It will take you around 20 minutes by foot or 10 minutes by public transport to reach the school and the centre of Old Lyon.

ESL has negotiated special rates in a variety of hotels and boarding houses that reflect a range of categories. These establishments, located near the course centres, fill up relatively quickly during the summer months.
