LAL BERKHAMSTED SUMMER SCHOOL

The LAL Summer School in Berkhamsted is set in a private, independent school, dating back to 1541. The site retains its original school buildings whilst also offering many modern and impressive facilities for our young learners to enjoy. The school is set over two campuses and is ideally located for London’s attractions and airports, making it a perfect location for an English study holiday.

ACCOMMODATION

Homestay

(age 12-17)

Staying in a host’s home is a great way to discover the local way of life, and for students to practise the English learnt in their lessons. Hosts will provide breakfast as well as shared bedrooms and bathrooms. At Berkhamsted, hosts provide two evening meals per week, while the rest of the week students will eat lunch and dinner at the school. Students also have the option of spending all day Sunday with their hosts.

Residential

(age 9-17)

At Berkhamsted School we offer traditional British boarding school accommodation. The rooms for younger students are dormitories consisting of 10 beds. For older students we have shared rooms with 2-4 beds. All bathroom facilities are shared. All accommodation is staffed by LAL House Parents.

ABOUT BERKHAMSTED

Berkhamsted is a historic market town located to the north west of London. The town is surrounded by beautiful rolling hills with quaint old buildings and a buzzing, modern high street.

Berkhamsted stands on the famous Grand Union Canal, a haven for river wildlife.

There is plenty to see in the picturesque town centre too including many historic buildings, one of which is the oldest shop in Great Britain dating back to 1277.

Students will enjoy the best of both worlds from a quiet countryside town to the big bustling cities of London and Oxford.
