There is nothing like travelling to a country and having the opportunity of learning more about its culture. Our English Culture course will deepen and enrich your understanding of British culture. Immerse yourself in the English language in the famous borough of Richmond and discover more about British traditions.
By the end of the course, you will have a better understanding of British cultural identity, traditions, festivals and celebrations, as well as the monarchy, celebrities and the media. You will also increase your knowledge of British history, its legal system and education structure.
This is one of our English courses for adults in London and a must if you are an English Culture fan!
The English Culture course is a Supplementary Course. You will need to book one Core Course in the mornings and study English Culture in the afternoons.
08 – 19 July
Twickenham is a beautiful town in London with many green parks to visit. You can walk along the River Thames where it is really awesome. It’s a safe place for living, especially for students. You can concentrate on studying English and it’s not so far to central London, so really convenient to do sightseeing after school.
I want to improve my English that’s why I’ve been staying for one month at LAL. It was a good experience because I met people from different countries, new friends and I can practice English everyday.
Capetown is a lovely place, I really enjoy it. The teachers in LAL teach well and they are so cool. The staff in the school is also sociable. Concerning my accommodation, I like it, my room is clean and has enough space even I shared it.
I find it very useful for my career as a lawyer dealing with company law and business contracts. I enrich my vocabulary and get an additional set of information focussed on business issues such as negotiating, dealing with communication breakdowns, structuring e-mails etc. The teachers adapt to the students’ interests.
Before this trip, I was very excited because I knew nobody and I didn’t know what would happen, but on the first day, the very nice ladies at the reception took away all these fears. They were really friendly and helped me with everything. My classmates were also very nice.
My Intensive English course covered all the basics in the morning but then lessons were more specific and sophisticated in the afternoon, mixing with students from other classes. The teachers had good British English and classes were mostly a good size (less than 10) during my 3 week stay.
The English course is really good and I have the feeling that I am learning a lot here. The teachers are very lovely and give a lot of attention to the students so that I almost feel like I am in private lessons. I like Hunters Lodge because it’s a great opportunity to really get to know new friends from other cultures and to practise English outside the school.
