Vacation English is recommended for students looking to balance studying English with excursions and activities in the afternoon. You will spend evenings in the company of your homestay host. learning about home life in England and practising their language skills, all in an international environment.
You will work on all of the key skills reading, writing, listening and speaking as well as extending your vocabulary and activating your grammar.
Using a course book written and designed specifically for younger learners, you will use stimulating materials and a variety of methods to ensure fast progression. The lessons have a link to the leisure programme to make a rounded experience and put what it learnt in the classroom into practice.
By the end of the course you can expect to have gained confidence in speaking and listening through the project work in the classroom and by interacting with students at similar age during the activities and excursions. You will have a better understanding of how to use the English language in everyday life.
Students will benefit from 15 hours a week of lessons and will take part in 5 half day excursions/activities and 1 full day excursion per week organised and supervised by the school. For sample timetables and excursion calendars, please see flyers for individual schools.
I am very happy with all the services provided for the school. They have a well prepared staff with excellent strategies to teach and make you feel the best experience learning the new language. they provide comfortable facilities with all the materials needed.
I thank all the staff of LAL School for my language stay in Cape Town. Teachers are very good and school facilities such as internet connection, activities and the food are satisfactory.
I enjoyed my stay, I learned many cultures, to talk to many students from different nations, besides just studying English. It’s a good experience.
Thank you for all. I really improved my English and I met a lot of amazing people. The room was perfect!
I’d like to take this time to say something about the time I spent in Cape Town, especially the accommodation. Even if my host family is away from here by walking, Ms Bev Lucraft and her mother are friendly and they did everything they could to look after me. I recommend to the LAL to choose that host family to the others students because it is a good stay.
Teachers are good at English and they gave me all English I’m looking for and other facilities to succeed. I’ll recommend other students to take part in LAL.
I have been here for almost six months and it was the best experience of my life, because I’ve met a lot of people and from different countries. They are very friendly and lovely, not just the students but the staff and teachers as well.
