Summer School in London
Our London summer school is located in Twickenham, close to the river Thames in the safe, smart and highly desirable borough of Richmond-upon-Thames. Famously the home of world rugby and birthplace of the Rolling Stones, Twickenham is just 20 minutes from the heart of the city.
LAL’s extremely popular summer school is situated at St Mary’s University. The university campus boasts extensive outdoor sports facilities and a recently built indoor sports centre, indoor tennis courts, a student hall and theatre.

Students can stay on-site at our St Mary’s University student residence. The residence features single rooms, with both shared and en-suite bathroom options available.
Staying in a host’s home is a great way to discover the local way of life. At St Mary’s, hosts provide two evening meals per week, while the rest of the week, students will eat lunch and dinner at the school.
The DELTA helped me to develop as a teacher, gain deeper knowledge and insight, and has broadened my horizons. The course was tough but well-organised and well worth it as it has given me much more of a profound understanding of what it means to be a teacher.
The teachers are very kind and patient. I’ve learned a lot of things and I met amazing people. It was a great experience, because you can learn the language and discover other cultures. There are not a lot of people in a class so you can speak and improve your English easily.
The English courses and teachers were funny. All staff is very kind, smiled and prepared to help. I was satisfied and felt like at home. The food in lunch was really tasty.
I want to improve my English that’s why I’ve been staying for one month at LAL. It was a good experience because I met people from different countries, new friends and I can practice English everyday.
Capetown is a lovely place, I really enjoy it. The teachers in LAL teach well and they are so cool. The staff in the school is also sociable. Concerning my accommodation, I like it, my room is clean and has enough space even I shared it.
I enjoyed my stay, I learned many cultures, to talk to many students from different nations, besides just studying English. It’s a good experience.
I find it very useful for my career as a lawyer dealing with company law and business contracts. I enrich my vocabulary and get an additional set of information focussed on business issues such as negotiating, dealing with communication breakdowns, structuring e-mails etc. The teachers adapt to the students’ interests.
