Learn English in the capital of England
At the LAL London school of English, you have a wide range of different English courses to choose from.
If you want to learn English for everyday life, the General English and Intensive English courses could be the right choice for you. You can start any Monday and choose to study for 10, 20 or 30 lessons per week according to your needs and goals.
If you are looking to maximise your learning experience with a qualification which will open the door to the most prestigious universities in the United Kingdom, we invite you to take the IELTS test preparation course. You can choose to have an intensive preparation or combine this course with the General English course. The intensive course will require B1 level but if you are A2, then you can take the combined course.
Other popular courses we offer include lessons to prepare you for the Cambridge exams. Preparation courses include: Cambridge English First (FCE) and Cambridge English Advanced, globally accepted qualifications in both the academic and professional world.
If you are a French student or you are looking to take a university course in an English business school in France, the TOEIC test preparation course is there to help you reach your goals. These courses will make sure that you are prepared to take your exam and give you all of the skills that you need to perform to the best of your ability.
We are also running some specific courses in our London School of English: our English for Specific Purposes (ESP) topics in London range from British Culture or Legal English to Business English. These courses are designed to give you a really in depth knowledge of the topic in the English language, giving you a better understanding of the language, whether that be at a job interview or in the work place.
All our courses are taught by professional English teachers who, thanks to their skills and abilities, have enabled LAL London to achieve internationally-recognised accreditation from the British Council, and we are members of English UK.
LAL London school of English is located in Twickenham in the beautiful borough of Richmond upon Thames and occupies part of a modern building which has been refitted to provide up-to-date facilities and an excellent learning environment.
The school has 10 classrooms which hold a maximum of 12 students in each room. There is an interactive whiteboard in our business classroom and our other classrooms have a 50″ HD television and Apple TV to enable interactive lessons, supporting them with topical and interesting media content.
When your lessons are over, you can relax in the student lounge, play with our iPads or practise your English with your fellow students. The student lounge is also the place where you can take part in one of the many clubs we run at LAL to both give you the opportunity to learn more and socialise with students from other class.
If you wish, you could also rent or purchase books from our library and bookshop to continue your learning outside the classroom.
The LAL London school of English does not only want you to learn English but also give you the opportunity to experience and learn about British culture and to discover not only what our location has to offer but also the surrounding areas. Our London school of English has a regular up-to-date social programme that offers a range of different activities that you can take part in after school or at the weekends.
During the week you can make new friends and do some sightseeing in one of our walking tours such as the Jack the Ripper walking tour, the South Bank tour, Richmond walking tour, etc. In the evening we are sure you will have a lot of fun with our pub tour (five pubs in a night, can you make it?) or in one of the LAL London’s parties in the most famous clubs in the city!
Over the weekend you can take the opportunity to explore the surrounding areas travelling with us in England, Scotland, Wales or across the channel to France, Belgium and the Netherlands. Do not hesitate to contact us for more details!

Whatever your budget or needs, we can always find the right accommodation for you.
